Payment integration for Kenyan businesses
Accept M‑Pesa, card and bank payments through one integration. Whether you are building a storefront, a service business or an internal tool, NunuaPay keeps your provider setup in one place and gives you a single, consistent API.
What Kenyan merchants typically run
- M‑Pesa (mobile money)
- STK push through PayHero or M‑Pesa (Daraja). The customer confirms on their phone; NunuaPay verifies the result server-side.
- Cards & bank
- Through Paystack: card, bank transfer, mobile money and USSD, with hosted checkout.
- Currency
- KES is the primary currency. Paystack additionally supports NGN, GHS, ZAR and USD.
Why use one integration
- One codebase. Add a provider without rewriting checkout, verification or webhook handling.
- Business and branch scoping. Model multiple businesses and branches and attribute payments correctly.
- Server-side truth. Every payment is verified with the provider — the browser is never trusted.
- Safe retries. Idempotency keys stop duplicate charges from retried requests.
Getting started
- Create your NunuaPay account and add a business.
- Add the provider credentials you already use (PayHero, M‑Pesa Daraja and/or Paystack) and test the connection.
- Generate a test API key, then integrate and test against provider sandbox/test environments.
- Switch to a live key when you are ready to accept real payments.
Provider availability depends on your own provider accounts and configuration. NunuaPay does not supply Paystack, PayHero or M‑Pesa merchant credentials, and enabling an integration does not automatically enable a payment method for a business.
